Off to go with the first assignment on government shutdown

A bit of history - This is the 22nd shutdown in the government to date. It all started with funding talks from both sides with disagreements. The government shutdown nationwide will not affect ongoing operations involving fundamentalism including military.

Social security, medicaid, medicare and all benefits will not be affected except migrants.

Green new deal is the first one to get affected with $8 billion cuts with job losses. Environmental protection projects will probably be suspended for a while, and workers and future power generation will have to think of other ways out.

The latest info shows Senate Democrats blocked the bid as agencies set to lay off 750,000 employees daily.

The Senate voted 55-45 to end debate on the continuing resolution, five votes short of the 60 needed to clear the legislative filibuster, with Democrats Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada and John Fetterman of Pennsylvania, as well as independent Angus King of Maine voting “yea.”

All but one Republican, Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky, also voted for the bill.

To end the shutdown, the Senate typically needs 60 votes for cloture to end debate if filibustered, though final passage is simple majority (51). Recent Senate votes failed due to lacking 60 votes. Many are blaming Chuck Schumer of NY while Nancy Pelosi says it’s Hakeem Jeffreies also of NY but who knows!
