Garden City woman arrested after crash to the tracks

The Nassau County DA's office reported a driver was taken into custody and charged with DWI for the single car crash in Garden City resulting in train delays. The incident occurred last night around 8pm by Nassau Blvd where commuters had to use shuttle buses to continue to their destinations. A passenger inside the vehicle was not injured. Police say the woman crashed into parked vehicles, then a fence before going to the tracks.

The female driver, 60 is a local resident was arraigned and she pleaded not guilty with the next court date on October 15.

By 3am, service was restored.

The investigation continues.
