Off duty cop died from injuries after one month car crash in Queens

An off duty NYPD officer died after suffering serious injuries from the earlier car crash one month ago in Springfield Gardens confirmed today. Michael Ellis, 34 passed away on February 27 at Jamaica Hospital. The car crash was reported on January 17 around midnight at the intersection of Nashville Blvd and Lucas Street. The other vehicle's driver and passenger were also taken to local hospitals with injuries. No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
