No enforcement speed announced for peddle in NYC

Peddle people peddle just got slower.

The new law announced by the NYC Mayor starting October 24, e-bike, e-scooters and other peddle assist commercial bicycles will obey 15mph speed. The enforcement has not been announced which is being chalked with the NYC Council who controls the Mayor and that is a wait and watch after the election.

The most valuable asset in the pedal market is the delivery people from app companies and they must be treated with the highest integrity. Some council members whose districts rely heavily on couch potatoes will demand the enforcement should be scrapped but the Mayor insists it's for the safety of New Yorkers.

Also many city council members who are waiting for Zohran Mamdani to be elected are optimistic he will remove this law from the current Mayor and add more bike lanes all over NYC.
