Next Springfield block closed off in Bayside

The NYPD closed off Springfield Blvd south near Sawyer Avenue in Bayside . Multiple witnesses confirmed the 15 year old who was shot at the local corner bus stop on Springfield Blvd and Union Turnpike ran out with bullets lodged inside toward the vicinity of Sawyer Avenue to get away from the suspect. While trying to jump from a chain link fence by the underpass, the teen collapsed and became unconscious. This is where EMS transported the teen to a local hospital. The public buses carrying Cardozo High School students on Springfield Blvd heading to Union Turnpike were stopped at Sawyer Avenue for investigation. ESU recovered shell casings.
