Nassau Blvd LIRR bridge in Garden City completed

On Monday, October 14, the LIRR bridge on Nassau Blvd in Garden City opened for the public. This is the fifth bridge installation as of June as part of LIRR Expansion Project. The new bridge replaced the 108 year old bridge with 14 feet from 11 feet, 47 feet long, 39 feet wide and weighs 285 tons. This is the bridge that had been struck 16 times in 2018-2019 and 43 times since 2010. The overall LIRR Expansion Project is set for completion in 2022.
