NYPD wants checkpoints removed from app

NYPD sent legal cease and desist to Google, the parent company of Waze, a mobile app that's for drivers to stop showing alerts of check points.

Over the week of Super Bowl, DWI checkpoints were compromised by drivers posting to the app allowing alternate routes had cops fuming for lack of activities.

Google has not responded to their legal notice but NYPD reported a full lawsuit is pending if the matter is not resolved.
