NYPD advising of a new scam

NYPD along with NCPD and SCPD are advising a new scam in NYC and Long Island of people receiving a debit card by mail with title Economic Impact Payment. The card looks real and people have activated only to lose their personal info. At the same time, a fake letter arrives from US Dept of Treasury to add funds to the card. The government will NEVER call, text, email, or send links to click to activate the card or get money. Avoid the scam.
