NYC still the safest despite increase in crime

According to the mayor de Blasio and NYPD Commissioner Shea after monthly crime briefing, NYC is still the safest city and crime is down.The mayor has not commented details about the push back against bail reform. In January 2020, around 1,000 victims were robbed or assaulted in Queens alone. Of the 16% increase, 27% is shooting, 35% robberies, 18% burglaries, 70% vehicle thefts, 10% grand larcenies and 8.5% felony assaults after bail reform is enforced. The mayor stated, the good news is murder and rape is down despite concern of January stats.
