NYC overrode DHS to help migrants

The Dept of Homeland terminated the protected status for those who came from Venezuela as migrants which was signed by Biden. For this, the NYC Council approved a $2 million budget to allocate for non profit agencies to help migrants in need of legal and other services. This is due to DHS stopping all grant funding for the NGOs who are assisting migrant services.

“The Council is proud to allocate more than $2 million in emergency funding for our Protect NYC Families Initiative, which will provide flexible funding for dozens of non-profit organizations that serve migrant New Yorkers.”

A new law signed by migrants that commit violent crimes will be detained following an executive order of having them moved to Guantanamo Base in Cuba.

The NYC Mayor stated cooperation with the US Immigrants and Customs (ICE) during deportation will end the application process and cannot reapply or enter NYC again. The NY Governor stated such a process will be vetoed.

This is the next step in the process which is under review with the NYC Council where certain members supporting the migrants will introduce the legislature.
