NYC is open as usual for the government

Schools are remote on Monday due to the snow which started today blanketing NYC. All agencies are open as usual to keep the city running. For schools, the only exception is due to the professional development day. Students that attend high schools and schools that serve only grades 6-12 are not scheduled to attend school on Monday. School will not be in session remotely for those students according to the Board of Education. Also all other students from LYFE, 3K, Pre-K, 6-8 in K-8 or middle schools have remote sessions. Schools are open for meals from 7:30am to 1:30pm for children and 11:30am to 1:30pm for adults.

There will be no garbage pick up until snow is cleared by the sanitation department that will be working around the clock. All government offices are open tomorrow as usual including remote sessions where necessary.

As for protests, check with local activist groups on the schedule for locations. The main one is anti-ICE followed by Free Palestine.

Airports are facing delays but trains are open for Minneapolis for those who want to go there and protest from NYC which is free funded by non profits.

For others, today is the NFL playoff between four teams heading to the Super Bowl in two weeks.

As for Long Island, all schools closed tomorrow for snow day.
