NYC Dept of Education investigating PS 143 odor incident

Around 10am, students were evacuated at PS 143, 34-74 113 St in Corona due to unknown odor. Six students were taken to local hospitals and remains in stable condition. Further investigation reported the odor was the result of gas seeping from HVAC system when it was turned on in the morning. As of afternoon, HVAC has been shut off and classes resumed. Now the Dept of Education is investigating the matter.
