NYC Council introduced a new bill to protect any hair styles

NYC Human Rights Commission has reported starting today of a new law called Hair Rights Discrimination.

Reported the introduction is the first in nationwide. NYC Council is working to make it law and the mayor is expected to sign it.

A guideline also has been released that any hair or hairstyle at work, school or in public spaces will fall under discrimination.

An employer found in violation can face up to $250,000 fines.

The measure was introduced after many complained of workforce discrimination based on their hair especially black people. For public spaces discrimination, cal 311. The entire guideline can be found here,
