Multiple vehicles broken into at Bellerose

Police were called to 241st Street between 89th Street and Braddock Avenue reporting of more than 15 vehicles break-ins. The first incident from surveillance video of a home was reported around 2:30am. Within 30 minutes span, the suspect took items from vehicles by checking for unlocked doors. At the same time, the perp used a slim jim like tool to open some of the older model vehicles. Vehicle owners reported to police when they were heading to work, dropping kids to school and etc. Police hasn't disclosed additional details but it was one suspect and possibly another one on the lookout. More vehicles were broken into in the vicinity of 241st Street. Detectives are working on this case due to several bank cards reported stolen and may have used elsewhere. The investigation is ongoing.
