More sharing fewer cars launching in NYC

NYC Mayor di Blasio announced the new car sharing service in NYC. Over 300 parking spots from Manhattan to Queens will be reserved in partnership with Enterprise Car Share and ZipCar where one can use their vehicle by paying for few hours. It will start on June 4 with 15 neighborhoods. For Queens, they are Jamaica, Jackson Heights and Rockaways. It will be a pilot program for two years with option to expand in other neighborhoods. Any other non-designated vehicles parking in those spots will be towed away. So what's the catch? Private companies will pay tax on the curbside spots as a revenue for the city.
