More heavy fire reported around Queens

The FDNY reported heavy fire at more locations around Queens. On December 27, fire broke out at a home on 99th Street near 34th Avenue in Corona around 8:15pm. On December 28 around 12am, fire broke out at a location on Guy R Brewer Blvd near 147th Avenue in Jamaica. The fire damaged the entire unit and EMS transported the injured to local hospitals. The same day around 2:30am, the fire marshal reported heavy fire at a home in Maspeth. This is on 57th Road near 70th Street. It took firefighters more than three hours to bring the fire under control. In Flushing, Latimer Place apartment reported a fire around 10:15am with minor injuries in the 3rd floor of a 7 story apartment.

Today in Corona on 99th Street near 53rd Avenue reported an electrical fire resulting in a power outage in the area. Another fire was reported in a basement in Richmond Hill. This is on 115th Street near 95th Avenue at location number 48. Firefighters rescued all trapped in the basement and EMS transported the injured to local hospitals. Jackson Heights reported battery fire at a location on Gleane Street near 40th Avenue around 11:30am. The fire was brought under control by 3pm.

The Red Cross continues to help those who were displaced from the fire to shelters.

All incidents are under investigation.
