Homicide investigation in South Jamaica

The NYPD closed off 157 Street near 108th Avenue in Jamaica reporting a 15 months old baby was found with slashed wounds. EMS transported the victim to a local hospital where the baby later died of injuries. The incident was reported this afternoon, shocking neighbors. EMS also transported the mother of the baby to a local hospital with slashed wounds. As of now, detectives are narrowing down the investigation to the mother with more details pending. The medical examiner transported the body of the baby to conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
