Mayor di Blasio announced of adding 1 500 barriers in NYC streets

On January 2nd, Mayor di Blasio reported of plan to add 1,500 barriers around NYC streets to prevent cars from accessing assigned pedestrian area. The plan was announced after the horrific incident on May 18, 2016 when an 18 year old female victim died and more than 20 people injured during an out of car went control driven by a 26 year old in Times Square. The project costs $7.5 million for Times Square alone. Other locations were not announced. pic by NYPD.
