Man killed in stabbing in Bay Shore

Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating a stabbing that killed a man in Bay Shore early this morning.

Third Precinct police officers responded to a report of a stabbing on Walbridge Avenue in Bay Shore at approximately 12:05 a.m. The victim, Anthony Gilbert, was stabbed during a fight in the street.

Gilbert, 24, of Bay Shore, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
