Jamaica woman busted for not paying home health aides in Westbury

The Nassau County DA's office reported the arrest of Linda Cunegin, 72 of Jamaica and charged with failure to pay wages and scheme to defraud. Her company, Tri-County Home Nursing Services employed home health aids and allegedly failing to pay more than $64,000 in wages.

The nursing service in Westbury has closed its doors. From 2016 to 2017, workers at the nursing agency reported of not being paid while providing services to home bound patients. Cunegin stated the company has not received reimbursements from Medicaid and Medicare causing late payments but DA Singas stated the payments were paid in time from both agencies. Her next court date is March 14. If convicted, she is heading to jail for 1 to 4 years.
