Jackson Heights is mourning for a fire victim

The FDNY reported heavy fire at an apartment building in Jackson Heights. The fire started around 5am this morning on 80th Street near 37th Avenue at the location, 37/06. The fire started in the first floor of a six story building. EMS transported the injured to local hospitals and later confirmed one died who was a female, 80 known to the community.

The fire was brought under control by 7am.

As of now the cause of fire investigation continues.
