Interim Chair of NYCHA is now asking Cuomo for funds

The new Interim Chair of NYCHA, Kathryn Garcia has submitted a letter to Governor Cuomo to release state funds for the housing in a plea.

The NYC Mayor's office did not return a reply but reported it has given contracts to 7 private companies with $88 million dollars for lead inspections for the next 18 months. This is a priority for the mayor which will start in April to end lead poisoning in children.

As for federal funds, the city has not submitted the required paper work.
