Homicide investigation in Elmont

Police closed off Hillsboro Avenue near Hempstead Turnpike and Home Depot in Elmont reporting a male found dead. Police sources reported this was a self inflicted gunshot. According to neighbords, the male was ranting outside with a gun and then went back inside the home when they heard gunshots. It happened around 10:15am today. Police are continuing with the investigation. The medical examiner transported the body for autopsy.
