Franchise vs street vendors heating up in NYC

Put down the burger and look forward to the Spring.

Try biryani, tacos or hot momos as street vendors are in full gear after the new guideline passed where NYPD can't enforce but sanitation department based on complaints only.

Now local franchise eateries from Chipotle, Taco Bell to local food based on cultural cuisine are changing and adding menus to stay competitive.

The biggest winner continues to be chicken biryani from the local street halal vendors that many say it's the best one meal a day to save budget. The NYC Mayor's office says application has been flooded for street vendor licenses by retail stores to sell outside their own as a two for one option which means come inside or eat outside choice not including dining shed. It's like having two vehicles with one parked in front of your home and another one in your driveway for peace of mind. The Dept of Consumers is setting up a new plan on this agenda so parking spaces, sidewalks and what else who knows will be allowed.

The biggest winners are the agencies and non profit that service the cleanup on sidewalks and the city is now preparing to issue vendor permits for trash can pick up around the clock.

This is going to be more work involved with deep blue operations for NYC to expand the budget. The biggest winner will be the Bronx and Brooklyn where most sidewalks will see street vendors followed by Queens and Manhattan. Now read this line closely. Street vending is allowed in all NYC local parks and is enforced by the parks department. Now read this one closely. Street vendors are allowed to display signs on sidewalks and public parks.

For Queens, the biggest winner is Flushing Meadows Corona Park. Yay!
