Four to three smiles inching for the casino in Flushing

Today, the NYS Senate approved the next plan in Flushing.

A 50 acre parking lot adjacent to the Mets stadium has been approved by 4-3. The next step is Assembly to pass. If that passes, then the Governor needs to sign. This is on top of the Metropolitan Park covering 20 acres.

The 3 licenses for the casino will be announced this December and most are predicting two will go for Queens. One will be at Resort Casino expansion in South Ozone Park and the other in Flushing where real estate is booming with high rent.

Flushing is now a millionaire zone where coop and condo goes for easy one million once where the rent was $100 in 1980.

According to Spectrum Gaming Group, a casino in Flushing can generate a cool close to $2 billion.

The casino's biggest beneficiary is the MTA so more mass transportation from the gaming tax revenue may, again, may balance the operating budget from the year 2026 onward.
