Ford to expand Chicago with SUVs and trucks

Car maker Ford announced of Chicago as the main factory centers with more expansions by investing $1 billion dollars.

The plan includes reducing manpower and close factories overseas. Ford already has several factories in Chicago and will expand further.

500 jobs will be added. On the light side, Ford will discontinue all passenger cars except the Mustang to focus on SUVs and trucks.

The F-150 is the number one selling model followed by Explorer. Chrysler is also expanding its production with Jeep models with 3,000 jobs in place.

GM is laying off 4,000 workers.
