First sporting event for women coming to Flushing

July 15 is the date for The Queens Classic at CitiField highlighted as the first ever women's sporting event at this location in Flushing. It's a soccer match which is a 2025 NWSL championship rematch and predicted to become the largest women's sports event in NYC history.

It's a 42,000 seats available to the public and tickets will go on sale on March 25. A portion of free and discounted tickets will be allocated to non profit agencies of NYC and lower income groups.

GothamFC is gaining attendance over the years from the average of around 10,000 at the New Jersey stadium where Giants and Jets play.

The promotional event will be held this Saturday, March 21 at the CitiField for the Gotham FC's 2026 NSWL home opener with Mr and Mrs Mets mascots.
