Fire at a vacant home in New Hyde Park

The location, 1649 Imperial Avenue in New Hyde Park was caught on fire which started in the basement. The fire happened around 9:15pm.

Neighbors reported to police the vacant home had squatters constantly and complained to 911. Police have not disclosed if they have questioned the squatters.

There were no injuries.

The cause of fire is under investigation.

The home was sold for $702,000 in April 23, 2018.
