Fate of the NYC budget will be known after the election for taxpayers

Vote matters and the city lost $14 billion from residents moved to mostly Florida.

Today, the NYC Mayor released the city budget and its $115 billion forecast for the year 2026. The Mayor says new spending on the NYPD with a new division, Quality of Life, libraries and education are the "budget my mom needed."

The main focus is after school programs and put the money back to the access for 184,000 total K-8 students by 2027 and maintains the same funding for libraries, CUNY and cultural institutions.

Coming to the social services, the budget allocated was $840 million, far less than the progressives expected to the new number at $1.2 billion.

The demand is $5 billion to start with which is $2 billion less than the migrant crisis but the Mayor says the federal support is not easy to come by under the Trump Administration. The medicaid is at $251 million, rental assistance at $176 million, cash assistance at $129 million, foster care at $102 million, shelter services at $100 million and affordable housing vouchers at $30 million.

Overall, the budget forecast is a wait since all members of the City Council are up for election. If the progressives also known as the far left gets more candidate victories, then the budget will be increased using taxpayers to meet the social service demands which can go up to $25 billion.

Also, it all depends on the new Mayor if the current one loses the election this November.

For now, it's all wait and watch.
