Elementary school on lockdown in Elmont

Police are at the local elementary school in Elmont reporting lockdown. Adams Street and Covert Avenue is the location.

This came after a male went inside the school with a knife. The security guards managed to grab the perp until police arrived. EMS is checking on all for injuries.

The incident was reported around early afternoon today.

Police didn't disclose the details of how the perp went inside the school.
