Each borough is unique to crimes in NYC

The NYC Mayor's office reported the usual crimes that's happening over and over for the year 2025 are all unique per each borough.

Maybe that's why each borough is special with spiked crimes.

For Queens, the biggest crime is auto related from thefts to carjacking and most are in the repeated offender lists.

The retail thefts belong to Manhattan at 30% while Staten Island is at 0.1%. The same repeated offenders over 300 continue with the same crime spree mainly targeting clothes and clothing accessories.

As for transit crimes, Brooklyn leads the spot and most of the victims are from Queens.

The Bronx has the highest violent felony assaults compared to the rest of the boroughs mostly from gang activities.

According to NYC Public Safety, 40% arrests are repeated within 90 days.

One of the main drawbacks is the budget in need of more programs and not jails or punishments despite the victims continuing to rack up. Last year, the victim crime rate was 1 in 16 and this year is 1 in 14.
