Duffy Sean Duffy is the name for NY drivers to remember

The US Transportation Secretary under President Trump Sean Duffy announced the NY Congestion Toll pricing is illegal on federal roads and must be terminated after sending the announcement in writing to the Governor's office.

This will lose around $15 billion for the NY state budget desperately needed to fill the debt gap of the MTA which is facing a financial crunch.

The Governor has not responded to Duffy as of yet but the Fed is moving forth to terminate the pricing on their roads.

The NYS Dept of Transportation will have to figure this one out by identifying state roads to connect to city routes to charge people if terminated in the coming weeks.

The next development will be announced soon.

In the meantime, this is from the MTA,

“Today, the MTA filed papers in federal court to ensure that the highly successful program—which has already dramatically reduced congestion, bringing reduced traffic and faster travel times, while increasing speeds for buses and emergency vehicles—will continue notwithstanding this baseless effort to snatch those benefits away from the millions of mass transit users, pedestrians and, especially, the drivers who come to the Manhattan Central Business District.

"It’s mystifying that after four years and 4,000 pages of federally-supervised environmental review—and barely three months after giving final approval to the Congestion Relief Program—USDOT would seek to totally reverse course.”
