Don the Clavin has more budget for shark patrol in Nassau County

The Nassau County’s Town of Hempstead Supervisor Donald Clavin whose only job is shark sighting and anything related to it announced additional funding after more fins were seen causing people to run away from the beaches last year.

Drones, scanning equipment and more lifeguards have been added to beaches in Nassau County under the new program, Shark Patrol.

Don stated there is an increase of sharks in the water the first over a decade and he is concerned for all with emotions.

Also the lifeguards have been trained to identify fins to determine the type of sharks from mild to scary. For that, more programs were added with funding to make beachgoers aware of their safety.
