Demolition set for Jamaica Bus Depot

The MTA announced that the current Jamaica Bus Depot in Jamaica will be demolished to make way for a new facility. The new facility will have all electric charging stations to house 272 buses. The location will also have washing lanes and maintenance bays. A new three story office building will also be set up.

The buses will be parked to the temporary off site lot until the construction which is expected to complete by 2026. This is part of a $1.2 billion project. The construction is contracted to private companies.
