Community banquet hall will be rebuilt in Fresh Meadows

The FDNY reported heavy fire at the local banquet hall in Fresh Meadows. This is on Union Turnpike near 188 Street.

The fire started around 8:30am and was brought under control around 9:30am. EMS reported minor injuries.

The hall is a well known for the local community that's always booked around the clock and will be rebuilt to keep serving.

The fire marshal is on the scene working to determine the cause.
