Commercial boards adding to homes

Many homes in Queens are adding commercial boards to promote their products or services. Despite the building department's strict rule without permits, residents go ahead anyway in NYC where anything goes.

One example is a home in Bellerose. This is on 252nd Street where green turf is added all around the home selling them as a promotion with signs outside.

According to the Mayor's Office, a billboard sign cannot be erected unless the property is zoned and/or permitted for outdoor advertising and the building department confirmed a permit is needed for individual homes except for the real estate industry.

New Yawkers don't complain but embrace anything.
