Burglary and bullets investigation in Long Island

The SCPD is investigating a burglary in Long Island where a homeowner was shot by two suspects. The incident was reported on Sunday night around midnight on Greenbrier Lane in Sayville, Suffolk County.

EMS transported the homeowner to a local hospital.

Police described the suspects as males wearing all black with ski masks of unknown race.

From the latest statement, two suspects entered the home when no one was home. When one of the suspects attempted to leave from the side door, this is when the homeowner was coming inside. This is when one of the suspects shot the homeowner.

Both suspects took off on foot with cash and other items.

So far no arrests.
