Burglary investigation at an animal hospital in Westbury

The Third Squad reports the details of a Burglary that occurred on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at 10:00 p.m. in Westbury.

According to detectives a property manager called 911 after arriving at Westbury Animal Hospital, 319 Union Avenue, and discovering the rear door open and broken pieces of wood on the floor. Video surveillance revealed that two unknown males forcibly entered the premise. A third suspect was also involved. The suspects remained at the location briefly before fleeing.

On March 18, 2026, one juvenile was taken into custody.

The juvenile defendant is charged with Attempted Burglary 3rd degree and Criminal Mischief 3rd degree. He was arraigned on March 19, 2026 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
