Brooklyn man charged in string of burglaries in Queens

A Brooklyn man has been arrested after reportedly burglarizing homes in six different Queens, New York neighborhoods over the course of four months. NYPD officers chased after the suspect during a burglary attempt on Feb. 3.

35-year-old Zengguo Chen was charged with burglary, grand larceny, assault, and other related crimes, QNS reported.

“As alleged in the complaints, this defendant went on a four-month burglary spree and targeted houses across Queens County,” said Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz in a statement. “This investigation is very much ongoing and additional charges are likely.”

The charges were in connection to a series of burglaries between October and February. Chen allegedly entered homes through windows and stole jewelry and other valuables.

One homeowner returned and noticed a bedroom window and backdoor was unlocked, along with her car key, safety deposit box key and jewelry worth more than $3,000 were missing.
