Bellerose off duty cop saved a woman s life in Woodside

NYPD officer Mandeep Kaur of Bellerose was heading to work at 114 Precinct in Astoria when she witnessed a woman next to a motorcycle injured on the shoulder of BQE near Exit 43 in Woodside.

She notified her precinct of the incident.

From there, while awaiting for an ambulance, she placed tourniquet on the injured woman to prevent further bleeding from unconscious.

Paramedics arrived shortly and she was taken to a local hospital.

The victim reported she was hit by a tractor trailer driving without license plate while changing lanes. Police are searching for the truck.
