Amazon is reconsidering LIC

Amazon reported in Washington Post, the newspaper owned by Jeff Bezos, the company is reconsidering Long Island City after four major politicians are vetoing.

They are Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, New York state Sen.

Michael Gianaris, City Councilmen Jimmy Van Bramer and Corey Johnson.

However, Mayor di Blasio and Governor Cuomo still stands with their decision to have Amazon in Queens.

Local politicians opposing the Amazon deal wants their constituents to be on public benefits with taxpayers funds instead of being part of the 25,000 jobs Amazon is hiring. Also, the opposing politicians wants the money for Amazon's tax credit used elsewhere such as subways, schools and public benefits.

One example is Ocasio-Cortez claimed by many DC insiders whose credit score is 430, has 2 evictions and mounting student loans pushing her constituents to follow socialism.

Johnson is in the spot for his upcoming run for mayor of NYC.

Van Bramer and Gianaris are also eyeing higher positions in NYS for future election. So far Amazon has not signed a lease in LIC until 2020 when the deal is expected to be announced whether approved or not. Overall, Cuomo has the power to decide regardless but still reviewing all angles.
