Attempted purse snatched pushed a victim to the ground inside the subway

On Sunday around 11am, police reported a female victim, 47, was waiting on the R train at the Elmhurst Avenue subway station when a suspect approached to steal her purse. The woman resisted and was pushed to the ground.

A bystander pushed the suspect away and then ran away.

The victim was not injured during the incident, and no property was taken.

Ongoing investigation.
