2035 is the year NYC municipal vehicles will be all electric

The NYC Council signed Intro 279 to make all municipal vehicles electric including sanitation to police.

Also, after the year 2025, the city can only purchase electric vehicles to get ready for 2035. All gas powered vehicles will be removed from the city's fleet by 2038 and will only be electric.

The bill also requires the training of city workers on the repair and maintenance of electric vehicles to preserve existing workers’ jobs.

This means workers must be trained to handle electric vehicles to be employed with the city.
