150 apartments on top of a temple in Forest Hills

Today the NYC Council approved the redevelopment of Reform Temple of Forest Hills with towers to house 150 apartments.

The plan submitted on December 14, 2022 by the City Planning Commission includes a new sanctuary, classrooms and 25% will be set aside for affordable housing.

It will be a 10 story tower on the corner of 112th Street and 71st Road by Queens Blvd. This is the fourth demolition of Jewish Centers after Rego Park's Parkside Memorial Chapel, Ohr Natan Synagogue and the Forest Hills Jewish Center, all in Queens.
