15 million price tag for special election for NYC Public Advocate

Tuesday, February 26 will be the day NYC registered voters can vote for special election to declare a winner for the seat of NYC Public Advocate.

The role of Public Advocate is to investigate services provided by NYC agencies as the main task. The other is being a watch dog when people complains.

Rarely Public Advocate enforce anything. A minimum of 3,750 signatures are required for the name in the ballot.

About 30 people are running for the position which will be narrowed down when the Board of Election announces their next update shortly.
