1 2 billion now for NYCHA demanded by Schumer

xSenator Chuck Schumer demanded on Sunday to POTUS to allocate $1.2 billion dollars in federal budget for NYCHA.

The NYC's public housing is in despair with broken pipes, defective boilers, leads, lack of heat and more. Schumer was at Smith Houses in Lower East Side talking to the press of more accountability from HUD chief Ben Carsons. Several sources in the HUD offices in New York stated Democrats will gets a free ride on POTUS if the budget is passed while waiting for the wall money. The only progress according to the city stated HUD hired an official to monitor the work and issue reported.

Beside the $1.2 billion, the city is required to spend $2.2 billion for repairs in term of issuing updates but has not done so.

While the political situation is going back and forth between Democrats and Republicans, public housing residents are taking the hit in the middle. Shumar is joined by Nydia Velaquez and other politicians.
