Woman arrested for leaving the scene of accident in Seaford

The Public Information Office reports the arrest of a Seaford woman for Leaving the Scene of an Incident without Reporting that occurred on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 3:20 pm in Seaford. According to Police, two (2) juveniles, ages 12 and 8, were attempting to cross eastbound on Washington Avenue in the vicinity of Pittsburgh Avenue.. While crossing the street a blue Lexus traveling southbound on Washington Ave struck the two juveniles, knocking them to ground. The vehicle continued south on Washington Avenue and left the scene. The Seaford Fire Department responded to evaluated the children. The victims’ mother was notified and responded to the scene. They suffered bruises and contusions to their arms and legs. Their mother refused medical attention. A thorough investigation was conducted and Georgette Maksym, 74, of 3992 Franklin Ave, was arrested without incident. Defendant Maksym is charged with Leaving the Scene of an Incident without Reporting (Injury). She was issued an Appearance Ticket for First District Court, returnable 9/01/2021.
