Whitestone Bridge closed

Police closed off the Whitestone Bridge after fatality. An off duty police officer died from self inflicted gun shot wound on the bridge. Heavy police personnel on the bridge. ESU, CIS and FDNY along with EMS are on the scene. It happened on the service road of the Whitestone Expressway at 3rd Avenue. Ongoing investigation.
