Wheelie bin is a must coming soon for NYC

The NYC Mayor announced today starting November 12, all buildings with 1 to 9 residential units must have wheelie bins for trash and no more plastic bags alone for garbage pickup.

The government always sends out confusing messages to people so the real statement is landlords or property owners with 9 or less tenants is the easy term.

The main reason is to enforce landlords or property owners with the same fine of $25 per bag now moving to wheelie bins. If the bags are not in the wheelie bin, the fine will be $25 so the more wheelie bins, the less fines.

The wheelie bins must be 55 gallons or less and those already have the larger version can be used until June 2026.
