Vitamin World filing for bankruptcy

The Long Island based company is set to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The company plans to renegotiate with leases for most of the 345 stores due to higher rent. A list of stores planning to close has not been announced as of yet. The company was started in 1976 by Arthur Rudolph in Williamsville, NY and then sold to another vitamn company, Nature's Bounty and again to private equity, Centre Lane Partners. After the bankruptcy process, the company will announce the list of stores to be closed including the one on Lakeville Road in New Hyde Park.
